Great place to go camping.
Great campground. The campsites were large and spacious. Each one comes with a fire pit (with a grill attached) and a picnic table. Some of the sites looked uneven compared to others. They are obviously designed more for trailers over tent camping. Ours was just right for out tent. We we're able to put it up right under some trees. It lightly rained at night and it was really relaxing to listen to while falling asleep.
Make sure to clean your campsite before going to bed. Right after sunset you'll hear coyotes howling all through the night. They sounded very far off, but it's possible that leaving food out will attract them to the campsite. There was also a bear warning posted in the entrance warning to pack all of your scented items in the car. I am not sure if bears really roam around or if it's a "just in case" thing they post for liability. One of my friends owns remote land down near Tony Grove. When we camped there last year everybody left their stuff out for three days and it was fine. Still, better safe than sorry!
I love camping here. Great small lake. It's quiet since no power boats are allowed. Great campground. I would have put five stars, but they took away the water. It says online that they have flush toilets... They do not. Water us NOT available in the campground, you have to fill up water jugs near the turnoff from the canyon road. Even with the water issues I would highly recommend Tony Grove, just be prepared and plan for your water needs.
One last thing. The site says they have flushable toilets, but right now they just have porta potties laid out around the grounds. They are in groups of 2 in different places around the loop. We counted two vaulted toilet areas. One by the camp host and one towards the end of the one way loop.
It's a cool place to visit on a hot day lots of wildlife to look at and hunt for if you're interested there are frogs and lots of little fish and big fish if you like to fish you can take non-motorized flotation devices there is a parking lot with sort of restrooms there was still some snow on the ground when I went there and lots of squirrels and chipmunks
Camp ground has not opened yet for the season, there is still snow on the ground. Glacier run off lake, beautiful drive, beautiful lake. So worth it.
